FAQs About Helyx Health in San Francisco, Beverly Hills, and Palo Alto, CA

Table of Contents:

How do I request an appointment?

Submit the secure appointment request form and identify the type of service you are seeking, your location, insurance or self-pay preference, and general scheduling needs. A request is not a confirmed appointment. The team will review clinical fit and current availability before offering next steps.

What services does Helyx Health offer?

Helyx Health provides outpatient psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, behavioral sleep medicine, home sleep apnea testing, and neuropsychological services. Specific offerings, age ranges, and appointment formats vary by clinician.

Where does Helyx Health serve patients?

Helyx Health serves patients in California, subject to clinician licensure and clinical fit. Publicly listed locations include San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Gatos, San Diego, La Jolla, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Alameda, and Beverly Hills. Confirm whether the available appointment is in person or by telehealth before traveling.

Does Helyx Health offer telehealth?

Yes, eligible patients may receive selected services by secure video while physically located in a state where their clinician is authorized to practice. Telehealth availability depends on the clinician, service, patient needs, and location at the time of the appointment.

Does Helyx Health accept insurance?

Helyx works with select Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, and Velocity National Provider Network arrangements. Participation varies by clinician, service, and exact plan. Some clinicians offer self-pay or eligible out-of-network options. Confirm current participation and benefits before the first visit.

Does every clinician accept the same insurance?

No. A practice-level payer relationship does not mean every clinician, service, or plan product is in network. Helyx should confirm known clinician participation, and patients should verify benefits directly with their insurer.

What happens at the first appointment?

The clinician generally reviews the reason for seeking care, relevant history, current symptoms or concerns, treatment goals, and next-step options. The structure differs across psychotherapy, psychiatry, sleep, and neuropsychological services.

Are same-day or urgent appointments available?

Do not assume same-day availability. Helyx schedules routine outpatient care based on clinical fit and clinician capacity. The practice does not provide emergency assessment, crisis response, inpatient care, detoxification, or acute stabilization.

How do current patients contact the care team?

Use the secure patient portal for care-related messages and appointment requests. Do not send detailed health information through ordinary email, general website forms, or unsecured text messages.

How quickly will I receive a response?

Response timing varies by request and business operations. Website forms, portal messages, voicemail, and text messages are not monitored continuously. Do not publish a response-time guarantee unless Helyx has an operational standard it can consistently meet.

What if I need a prescription refill?

Current patients should follow their psychiatric clinician’s refill instructions and allow sufficient processing time. Routine refill channels are not appropriate for emergencies. Prescriptions, early refills, controlled medications, and medication changes remain subject to clinical assessment and applicable requirements.

Is Helyx Health appropriate during a crisis?

No. If you may harm yourself or someone else, call 911, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency department. For urgent medical symptoms, seek appropriate medical or emergency care.

Who leads my treatment?

The clinician assigned to the patient leads the service they provide. Helyx is a multidisciplinary practice; no single founder should be portrayed as the main provider for every psychotherapy, psychiatry, sleep, or assessment patient.
